Kindergarten Graduation

I am all about celebrating life. Whether big or small an accomplishment needs to be recognized for a job well done. That is exactly what I decided to do for the twins graduation from kindergarten. They have worked so hard all year. They've done such an awesome job learning how to read that they now read bedtime stories to me ! They have jumped leaps & bounds with their writing skills and are starting to write sentences into stories. How can we not celebrate these accomplishments? Instead of purchasing gifts for them from Toys R Us or the Apple Store, I decided to give them an even greater gift, the gift of celebrating with  friends. As they grow they will see that no item purchased at the store can compare to a core group of friends to carry you through your tough times and laugh with you through good times. We all need someone and starting solid friendships that will continue to grow through out their lives is definitely an asset.

It all started with a post on Facebook that I was having horses come to the graduation party. Next thing I know, I receive a message from Gina Parker, owner of C is for Cupcake Baking Co. inquiring about my plans. The next few days lead us to this collaborative idea of a Country Fair Theme.
The only problem with having the horses here for the afternoon is now hearing, "can we get a horse?"

I had already planned for tug of war and water balloons, next we added sack races and knock the cans down. What a great DIY project. Save your old soup cans, and stack em up on a cute country basket. Sew together some bean bags and that's it,simple ! Super easy idea, thanks Gina !

What child doesn't love lemonade and popcorn ! A little sitting area was formed by adding a couple of bails of hay, some lemonade in these super cute mini milk jars.

Could they get any happier !

Let's just hang out and enjoy our treats before all our friends arrive !

Ahh - the cupcakes !!! Of course the classic cupcake was a shining star at the party ! Chocolate with butter cream frosting. In addition to the classic chocolate & vanilla, was pink lemonade and cotton candy. These cupcakes were a huge hit !

Simple touches that make for a beautiful table. How easy is this centerpiece?  Taken from our own backyard! Sugar cookies, molasses and ginger snaps these treats were enjoyed by many. "this is such a great idea" was the consensuses of the comments that day.

This has to be one of my most favorite images ! This image alone will continue to bring back so many wonderful memories of their graduation party. There was no technology involved that day. All classic activities that brought friends together, let kids be kids and left mothers with crying children when it was time for them to leave. I am so happy I was able to give them this gift. May this be the start of many more wonderful parties !
Thank you Gina Parker for making this an even better party then I could have imagined !

C is for cupcake - Graduation

Another beautiful creation for C is for cupcake ! I was so excited to see this beautiful graduation table of black, pink and zebra print. Every little detail made this table come to life. It was a true expression of a young girls graduation and all of her favorite treats.
One of the great things about Gina is she puts the same attention to detail in each of her dessert tables, client, family, or friend you get all the little details, great baked goods and enthusiasm. I can't wait to see what her creative mind comes up with for our very own C is for cupcake event ! Stayed tuned . . . . . . . .

Isn't this a beautiful idea ? I loved seeing this ! It's simple, elegant and just perfect !

Black Pink & Zebra a perfect compliment ! Modern & Classic, great idea !

PROM ~

It is one of the most memorable moments in a teenage girls world, going to prom. Especially when you are a junior invited to Senior Prom ! I remember the day Gweyn told me she was asked to prom, her face lit up and she was so happy. We started planning immediately ! I would do her hair, Agnes,( a local make up artist, and  one of my dearest friends) would apply her make up and we would go dress shopping ASAP !
The day finally arrived and it was so bittersweet. Little Gweynie was all grown up. She looked beautiful and felt like a princess.
I hope you made some great memories tonight Gweyn and I can't wait to hear all about it !

Vintage Senior Session

I'm always excited before a session, especially when I get the opportunity to photograph a young person who has their whole life in front of them. Our Seniors are our future, they have the world in their hands and if given the right opportunities and chose the path that is right for them, it can be a wonderful journey for them. A journey that will bring them years of wonderful memories.
One of the exciting parts of a session is being able to create an image that I've had rushing through my mind of ideas, the land of discovery and excitement. Doing this Vintage session was a thrill and honor for me. I look forward to many more creative sessions. It's especially helpful to have such a wonderful client to go along for the ride.
Enjoy your preview and I wish you many years of creating exactly who you want to be !

Tongue N Groove

Having a set of 6 year old twins makes an uninterrupted conversation with my husband, or anyone for that matter, virtually impossible. so when it's a Saturday night and we have an opportunity for some "kid free" time, we take it ! We weren't sure how this night was going to turn out, seeing we have been captive to the Disney Channel, Power Rangers and My Little Pony. We weren't sure we would even know any songs that would be played this night. But, we went for it, off to see Tongue N Groove. We wondered what kind of music this band would even play.
To our surprise, we knew the music ! There was a variety of The Cars, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Pink, The Hollies and even Prince ! Yes, you heard it right, Prince Purple Rain ! Who even remembers that song ? I was back in 1985 and it was great ! The energy was amazing and the band sounded awesome  !

Having a summer party, family reunion, or just a get together? Contact Tongue N Groove (find their page on Facebook) you won't be disappointed !
