Love yourself NOW session

Love Yourself Now

We each have our very own battles that we deal with each day. I know for me there are many. I battle with my love for food and my determination to stay healthy and strong. Strong for myself and our family, hence my 4:30 am alarm that chimes in my ear to get me out of our bed and off to the gym.

Then there is the battle of balancing parenting and work. Or merely taking time for myself. Somewhere there has to be a couple of minutes for myself outside of soccer, dance, karate, school board meetings and my love for photography. OH wait, then there is the daily household duties that need to be accomplished. Cooking of the meals, laundry, homework, baths, and bedtime stories. You all get the idea here.

This got me to thinking, of course I am not alone in this battle. Naturally there has to be millions of others facing the same battle as I do. When will I ever be good enough to take time for myself. Shouldn't I just love myself NOW? Regardless of what the scale says or what I made for dinner? Yes, this isn't my mothers dinner table, I do serve mac & cheese for dinner and it isn't home made.

Wouldn't it be great if I could have a couple of hours for myself, uninterrupted by I phones or I pads, but merely I, as in me ?? Wouldn't it feel great to have someone else apply my makeup and do my hair ? AND have beautiful images to remember this O so special day ? Couldn't this recharge my love for myself or even make me realize just how beautiful I am?

I hope you enjoy your preview Pam, this was an exceptionally fun session with you ! The beautiful gown as well as your casual jeans & black top!  I love that we didn't transform you into some unrecognizable person. It's still you, but now you will have some awesome images to remember this day by !

I look forward to showing many more woman just how beautiful they truly are !

It's a love thing . . . Kimberly & Dan

"I've never had our pictures taken before and I really want to do this, I'm just so nervous!"  I can't even count the number of times that I hear this from a new client. This gets my mind to whirling for fun and exciting, but not to over the top, ideas. Naturally, I want them to enjoy their time with me. I want to show them just how beautiful they are, how their glow exudes their entire being and maybe, just maybe I can help them be a little less critical of themselves. That my friends is one of my most sought after goals, for myself included . . . .

Kimberly & Dan, I hope you will also see all the beauty in your preview !!! I had a great time with you both and wish you many more happy memories !

*** Attention Class of 2014 ***

Since the beginning of time, {well maybe not the beginning} I have had an eye for detail and the need to see no show things in a different, rare,or unusual way. Photography has certainly let me express myself in a million different ways.

But what I found that I enjoyed the most was the time I spent during the sessions spent with Seniors that were about to graduate from High School. The young adults that had the world in their hands, just waiting, no dying to take their plunge, to make their very own mark on the world. A mark that would include all of their past experiences, the love and support of their families and their own personalities that have emerged.

What I'd like to offer my new Seniors, The Class of 2014
  • book your session { with a $50 non refundable deposit} by March 1,2013 and receive a $50 print credit, a facebook timeline cover with 4 images from your session.
  • refer a friend and you both get 16 wallets FREE !

Tips from Trish

  • Find at least one thing you love about yourself... is it your eyes? or the way you laugh with your friends ? Your sense of style or your new choppy hair cut ? Whatever it is, if you keep this in mind, you'll be more relaxed and able to see what I see, behind the lens !
  • Let's keep it real !!! Who are you, really? Do you enjoy taking walks in the woods or just being outside? Maybe you love the ocean !  Then let's do it !  What about you most prized possession or favorite sport ? It's all up to you ! These are NOT your grandmother's Senior photos !

So, what are your dreams? Let's talk !!! Sometimes it really amazes me how many of these young adults have such awesome views of the world ! ! What they want to be, or how they want to change it !
It's great to hear their opinions, oh and their jokes too !!!
I'm looking forward to another great session of Seniors ! Contact me today to set up the most fun you'll have during a photo shoot !!!
xoxo,
Trish

New Years Day { This Is How We Roll }

In my "Goodbye 2012 . . ." blog I mentioned that I would be offering a new session for 2013, "This Is How We Roll"  Here you will see how we, as a family, celebrate New Years Day. It's our story, our memories, and the history that has brought us to this point. I hope you enjoy learning about our tradition.

Each family has there own traditions that have special meaning to them. When I was little, New Years Day was spent relaxing and playing with all of our gifts from Christmas. Our mom {of four boys and one girl }was anxiously awaiting our return to school, which now I can relate too. There wasn't much excitement or rushing to get anything done, it was just a day spent at your leisure.
As I grew older, naturally the events of the day changed. As a teen I spent most of the day with girlfriends, as an adult I would spend the day shopping and finding each bargain that I could, again usually with my girlfriends.
Once I met Vincent, little did I know, my New Year Day tradition would actually become a tradition that both of us would look forward too and continue for going on 13 years. It's Mary Lou's Egg Puff !
Yes, it's food, a recipe, a memory of Vin's Mom. Never did I think this would become so important to us. Vin's parents weren't always with us for the holidays, seeing they had a winter home{lucky them!} in a warmer climate. Somehow with Vin making  Mary Lou's egg puff it brought them there with us on that day. It's funny how food, recipes from loved ones, always seem to bring people together, maybe not in body, but in mind & spirit.

With this being the first meal my future husband, at the time, would make me and with Mary Lou passing in 2011 is would become even more dear to us. It's a great breakfast, consisting of eggs, butter, milk, flour and apples, so good ! Oh and add some fresh ground cinnamon and maple syrup, even more divine !

Of course we would vamp it up some and add bacon . . . who doesn't love bacon ? Yeah, it's not the healthiest way to start a new year, but with Vin's love for the pig, it has become our family tradition and Audrey & Aidan will know this is why the bacon was added to our New Years Day breakfast table.

Our New Year morning table. . .. the twins love having OJ in wine glasses. It's the little things that make them feel special and they will remember.

Once the twins were old enough we decided to add a little game fun to our morning tradition. We'll play Monopoly! Of course daddy would be very excited to teach them the ins & outs of using money ! He's very happy when he's talking money, real or monopoly money, it's all good.

And "This Is How We Roll" ~ on New Year's Day !

Good bye 2012 . . . . .

This has definitely been an amazing year. I have met some wonderful people, made new friends, cried over a clients kind words, watched newborns turn into toddlers, met some beautiful brides and look forward to my 2013 weddings. . . .phew that's a lot !

I can't begin to show my gratitude to all of you !  My existing clients and the new clients I am meeting.I thank you for the trust you put in me. I am most happy when I am behind the lens, capturing memories that the mind may forget, but not the heart.
I have experienced enough loss in my life to know how important it is to cherish those that mean the most to you. How that ONE image of you and your special someone can warm even the loneliest night, bring a smile to your face and even ease a small part of your pain. This is what drives me to stay behind the camera, to capture moments and to leave a legacy, not only for my family but for others as well.

I've gathered a few of my most favorite moments from this past year that I would love to share with you all. I've also considered some specials to offer my current clients along with new clients. I enjoy giving back when I can. Having the hectic life that I do, raising 7 year old twins, running a household with a new puppy { yes, he is included in my favorite moments of 2012} volunteering on committees for the twins school, and being a daughter, sister & wife, I knew I could find a way to give to my clients as well.

With any new client that books in 2013 you will receive a facebook time line cover with 4 of your images from your session. This is a nice display for your page and it looks much nicer than those pictures that just don't fit quite right in the allowed space facebook has given us all. It will be customized with your name & or unique message.

For my existing clients, I am putting into effect a referral system. Everyone loves a bargain, right? Once you send a new client to me, make sure they tell me you sent them. You each will receive a $25 print credit, toward your next session.

For my Senior Class of 2014 - each time you send a fellow classmate to me and they book their session, each of you will receive 16 wallets, FREE !

I've also decided to introduce a new type of session I've been having some fun with. Clients are now able to book a "This is how we roll" session. These sessions are super fun !  It's basically me photographing your family in your own setting, your home ! Or you at a picnic, or even an event; birthday party, family dinner, a trip to the zoo !!! Want more details, just shoot me an email trishdefilippo@audansphotobox.com

Ok, so I've talked enough - Let start with the new session preview - "This is how we roll"

Our boy doing his usual thing, playing guitar and singing his heart out. . . .I love the simple and real emotions in these images. I love that I have his tiny hands captured here, his long hair and his baby teeth. These are the little details most don't think of photographing, but once we have them, we're so happy we do !

One example of the time line cover . . . .this is a clean, fun cover to display on your page.

Some of my most favorite Seniors of 2013 - love these young people ! So full of life and potential !!!

Let's not forget our little ones . . . probably the ones that make me laugh the most !

And two beautiful brides . . . .

And here is the latest addition to the family ! Bringing us much joy !
Happy New Year everyone, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support through out this wonderful journey. You have all made a huge difference in my life !
                               Much love,
                         Trish

The Doering Family

I have met more & more great families this past year. This group was no exception! When Mom first contacted me she wanted to do a sibling shoot along with their two four legged friends. I was totally up for the challenge - 3 kids under the age of 10 and 2 dogs - sure, let's do it !!!!

We had more fun than I expected, the kids were so enthusiastic and ready for fun. Sometimes with a group of kids, you have to reel them back in, they get so comfortable with you, it's a little challenge to get them back to the task at hand. Snow ! That was my bribery, let's get a couple of great shots for Grammie & Grampie and then we'll have some fun with some snow !!!!

Enjoy your  preview Doerings ! This session is going in my top 10 !

Merry Christmas !
