Halloween Photo Shoot " Pirates of the Compound"

This session was a couple months in the making. I'm not exactly sure how the whole idea started, but I do know it had something to do with a piece of clothing my niece bought for my great-niece.
So we started chatting about a pirate session, in the woods behind our houses. We would shop for the material to make the tutu's, sashes and head wraps. It was so much fun shopping and planning for our session.

It took a little work, but we got them all together. At the last minute we had an addition to our shoot, so she became the princess that was also captured by the pirates !

Every pirate "needs" an eye patch and long dread locks, right? This outfit was so easy. Take a pair of old karate pants, cut off to get your "pirate - ratty" look, add some rain boots, a t-shirt that was purchased on clearance, a eye patch from your own toy chest, some material from the $1.99 fabric store, a toy sword from the dollar store and you're done !

She's strong, beautiful and outrageously funny! Again, super easy costume.

And here is our very own little "witch"! Tulle skirt made from material for the fabric store, super cute little witch hat purchased from Esty and you're done.

OH, you love Jake & the Never land pirates? Perfect, you're in!

And here is our unexpected addition. A previous halloween costume of my daughters, a bow in her hair, some Dora jewelry and poof - done !

Now, anyone that knows me; knows how important our family dog is to us! Lou is definitely one of the family ! He does everything with us, so naturally he would be in this photo shoot. Andddd he's the prisoner, too cute !!!

We've done photo shoots in the past with these cousins, and I love it ! Can't wait to see what next year brings !

It's a country, John Deere, One Year cake smash !!

One never knows what they will get with doing a one year old cake smash session. Some love the cake, others not so much.
This little one certainly loves her frosting !! She was so excited when she saw her cake, you could feel her excitement. See what I mean?? LOVE !!!!

Maya's mom took a lot of time making {yes, making} the props for this session. The cake, cake banner, tutu and info board !!! I have to admit, she is pretty talented, even if she wasn't my niece I would give her the same compliment !

Happy 1st Birthday Maya Boo Boo

Woodruff Family Session

When Karen contacted me, she hoped that we could schedule a session before her husband was deployed to Afghanistan. I did whatever I needed to in order to make this session happen. I can't even imagine leaving my family for such an extended amount of time. Let alone putting my life on the line for our country. It takes a special person and family to live such a selfless & commited life.

I'm honored to have captured these memories !

Did you know, we have lots of laughs and silly faces included in our family sessions !

 And . . . .giggles !

And love . . . .

And sweetness . . . .

And adorableness . . . {wait, is that a word? }
